We aim to provide an environment where students of all ages can learn a range of dance styles and techniques. We ensure it is an enjoyable experience where fun, fitness and friendships are at the forefront. We believe that dance is for everyone – every child is special and students are given every opportunity to develop dance skills, technique training, teamwork, poise, good deportment and gain an insight to theatre production. Our role is to encourage and foster each child’s passion for dance in a non-competitive environment.
Dancing is a great way to stay fit and also improves self-esteem, confidence and team building.
We specialise in keeping up-to-date with the latest music and dance styles. Our dedicated and enthusiastic teaching team have trained with world renowned choreographers who have worked with Pink, Britney Spears, Usher, and more. They have also appeared in theatre shows and stage productions such as Cats, Billy Elliot and We Will Rock You to name a few. Former students have also been accepted into the Australian Ballet School and the Secondary Victorian College of the Arts.
Our studios are conveniently located at the Brookwood Community Centre, 25 Hazel Glen Drive (Cnr Brookwood Crescent) Doreen with superb facilities including full length mirrors, heating and air conditioning. A comfortable waiting area for parents with tea and coffee facilities as well as the local café.
We also offer brand new leather dance shoes, tights and body stockings in all children and adult sizes at very reasonable prices as well as a range of Dance Power hoodies, singlets and tshirts.

Dance styles range from Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop & Breakin including Boys Hip Hop, Cheerleading, Drama, Musical Theatre & Singing.
Tap Dancing is an exciting rhythmic dance style which focuses on timing, technique, rhythms and co-ordination. Class emphasis tap terminology and generally consist of a warm up, travelling work across the floor and combination work. The intricate footwork makes it great to watch and a delight to listen. Come and enjoy the art of Tap Dance.
Contemporary dance is a style that is influenced by both ballet and jazz. It is an expressive dance form with greater range of movement. Music used ranges from alternative to acoustic to rock and pop. Principles include centering, alignment, contraction, release and suspension.
Jazz is a technical dance style involving kicks, turns, pirouettes, jumps and travelling diagonal work. Your stamina, strength and flexibility will be defined and refined. The class progresses from a warm-up to travelling sequences into a choreographed performance routine.
This class is full of energy and combines dance, tumbling, stunts, pyramids, pom-pom motions, jumps, kicks and more. Seen at major championships and sporting events. Characteristics include clean and precise motions and techniques as well as visual effect from group work. You will learn to use cheer motions to memorise cheers and master the art of performing them.
Classical Ballet is a traditional and technical form of dance which provides the necessary grounding for all dance forms. It focuses on grace and discipline and improves posture, strength and flexibility. Classes incorporate the French vocabulary of steps, poses and graceful movements from pointed feet, turnout, turns and rises. Exercises are undertaken on the ballet barre in the centre of the room and travelling work from the corner.
This class combines acting, music and song. It teaches students how to read and interpret a script, improvise in character, connect with an audience and perform on stage. We cover the fundamental aspects of the art of acting with a focus on physical movement and gesture. The singing class consists of vocal warm up, lyrics, melody, correcting pitch, sounds, mouth shapes and projection on the stage. If singing is a passion, this class is a fantastic way to start.
Hip Hop is a style danced primarily to hip hop music and seen commonly in clubs, on the streets or in music video clips. It includes a range of styles from funk, popping, locking, house, krumping, old school and more. The style varies between Teacher as hip hop is an individuals interpretation of the music and their personal expression. It is a freestyle form of dance with emphasis on execution, body isolations and control and rhythm. Classes generally consist of warm ups, technical and strength building exercises and coordination of putting moves together into a routine.

We understand that making costumes are expensive and time consuming. Costumes are therefore selected to provide minimal inconvenience to parents and are issued on a hire basis.
We place strong emphasis on our end of year performances where the school unites and showcases a professional production. Students perform on stage in full costumes and make-up in Dance Power’s end of year performances which are held at the Plenty Ranges Arts & Convention Centre 25 Ferres Blvd, South Morang.

The theatre offers state of the art facilities and hosts major shows and productions including the Australian Ballet School.
A compulsory dress rehearsal is also held at the theatre on Sunday 10th November 2024. This is a great opportunity for students to experience dancing on stage in costume with professional lighting and crew. Backstage dressers, runners, and helpers are required for each performance.
Tickets go on sale in Term 4. Professional filming of the performance is also organised and a digital filming fee of $28 will accompany term 4 fees.
Tinys, Sub-Junior, Junior & Intermediate Groups will perform in one show. Other groups will be advised later in the year as to which concerts they will perform in.

Term fees must be paid in the first three weeks of each term. Late payment will incur a $10 administration fee and possible loss of enrolment position. There are no additional insurance or registration fees payable.
*Term fees are on a 10 week basis (inc GST) and subject to change. 10% discount for 2 children, 15% discount for three children, 20% for four or more children. No refunds will be given for cancellation or missed classes, however make up classes are available.
All students must be appropriately dressed for each lesson and this includes general dance wear defining body lines i.e leotards, tights, shorts, leggings, dance pants, singlets, fitted T-shirts and correct footwear. No jeans. Hair off the face. Jewellery should not be worn for safety reasons. Chewing gum is strictly pro-hibited and we highly recommend each student brings a water bottle to class. Please ensure all clothing, shoes and belongings are clearly labeled with your full name.
For the convenience of our students, we have been able to source good quality and affordable tights, body stockings and dance shoes as well as a range of Dance Power hoodies, singlets and tshirts which can be purchased from Reception at our dance studios in Doreen. All children’s and adult sizes are available.
