Contemporary dance is a style that is influenced by both ballet and jazz. It is an expressive dance form with greater range of movement. Music used ranges from alternative to acoustic to rock and pop. Principles include centering, alignment, contraction, release and suspension.

Jazz is a technical dance style involving kicks, turns, pirouettes, jumps and travelling diagonal work. Your stamina, strength and flexibility will be defined and refined. The class progresses from a warm-up to travelling sequences into a choreographed performance routine.

Exercises are undertaken on the ballet barre in the centre of the room and travelling work from the corner.

This class combines acting, music and song. It teaches students how to read and interpret a script, improvise in character, connect with an audience and perform on stage.
